She loves her new brother-in-law and looks forward to his graduation from high school before leaving for college. This is a story about friendship, family, and the importance of maintaining one's identity no matter how difficult it becomes. It is also about persevering in the face of adversity, finding the courage to stand up for one's beliefs, and learning how to cope with loss. The character of Megha (played by Anaya Kapoor) is a sweet child who has not seen her father in years. She has learned to depend on her mother and older sister, Ritu (Rekha) for emotional support. When they tell her that her father is coming home, she'll be surprised to learn that he will actually be living just across the street from them! By necessity, they become polar opposites in personality but they quickly discover how much they need each other in following this new arrangement. Megha is a typical eight year old who likes to play with dolls, do her homework, go to school, and enjoy the company of her friends. She gets along well with everyone except one girl in her class who she calls "Blockhead". Her best friend is Ritu's classmate Sameer. When she learns that her father will be living across the street from them, she's excited at the prospect of getting to know him better. Megha's father is Sanjay Singh (played by Ronit Roy). He's a successful attorney who believes in working hard and playing harder. He has a "take charge" attitude and tends to dominate the conversations he's engaged in. He is an avid golfer and loves his sport so much that he was even willing to leave his family behind and move away for it. His wife, Simo (played by Rajeshwari Sachdeva), had no choice but to accept his decision and try her best to deal with it. She believes that the break up of their marriage was due largely to her inability to keep up with him as he worked harder and harder towards his goals. Megha comes from a broken family as well as she is the only child from Simo's first marriage. She was raised by her mother and younger sister, Ritu. Their mother left the family when Megha was quite little and she rarely had any contact with her even after Simo's wedding to Sanjay. Simo tells them that their father has agreed to move back in with them, which is exciting news for Megha and Ritu. She is eager to get to know him better but things don't go quite as expected. Her father becomes controlling of his own house and discipline towards his children while he tries to impose his way of doing things on them all.
